Lab
Our laboratory investigates population differences in tumor biology to better understand how biological, behavioral, and environmental factors drive cancer health disparities.
We provide:
Inclusive mentorship.
A vibrant, collaborative, and inclusive research laboratory.
Individualized professional development, training, and educational opportunities.
OUR LAB MISSION
To identify population-specific differences in tumor biology to better understand the science of cancer health disparities and its application to precision prevention and precision medicine.
OUR LAB VISION
Translate and fast-track discoveries to communities and clinics for improved prevention and treatment outcomes for underrepresented populations with cancer.
CURRENT PROJECTS
Through basic and translational studies, we are currently exploring the mechanisms of lung cancer initiation and progression after cigarette smoking and radon gas exposure using integrative multi-omic approaches (genomic, epigenomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and exposomic).
Our goal is to discover new molecular targets and translate these findings into novel early detection and drug treatment biomarkers for diverse populations with lung cancer.
